Sports bras with an underwire are increasingly popular. There are many reports suggesting you should not exercise whilst wearing an underwire - however, at this point in time, no research has been done anywhere in the world, regarding the safety or possible long term damage to the breast by wearing one.

It is essential an underwired sports bra fits well to avoid injury whilst wearing as a wire in the wrong place can be very uncomfortable. The wire should sit against the rib cage at the front and not extend too far into the armpit.
